Client with a semi-virtualized structure in ESXI with an SBS Server that wants to update and migrate its current production environment.
Project requirements
A new centralized and more modern server execution environment is intended, eliminating historical errors and lack of updates due to obsolescence of the current System.
Solutions
At Maxminterm Solutions we propose a VMware vSphere platform on a new HP server with various SATA and SSD disks that we will distribute according to the requirements of applications and users.
Initially we installed a first virtual machine with an Owncloud server to share information both internally and for clients. The requirements of this virtual machine are not high.
The second virtual machine is migrated directly from the old existing ESXI Server, distributing the information on new, more optimal disks.
The third virtual machine is made by migrating the old SBS 2007 server. To do this, the existing Active Directory is migrated to the new Microsoft Server, then Microsoft Exchange 2007 is migrated. All processes are carried out transparently at night and on weekends. for users (it was an initial requirement). From here, the migration of the A3 System is carried out in all its modules, transferring its Databases and then the rest of the corporate data, maintaining mobile profiles and virtual units so as not to have to interact on the users' computers. The new backup copies are subsequently adapted to a Synology NAS.
Finally, the necessary modifications are made to the company's Firewall to have VPN access from outside (Synology).
